Our story all began with an idea. We wanted to launch a business, turning a hobby into something more.

At Northern Healing & Arts, we believe that creativity has the power to heal, connect, and inspire. We are more than a store—we are a sanctuary where people of all ages can step away from the digital world and immerse themselves in the joys of art and self-care.

Here, the senses come alive: the smell of paints and essential oils, the feel of clay in your hands, the sound of brushes on canvas, and the sight of your own creativity unfolding. Our carefully curated art supplies, self-care products, and thoughtfully designed classes invite you to explore, express, and nurture yourself—mind, body, and spirit.

But we are also about connection. We strive to bring together a community of like-minded individuals who seek to relax, grow, and share in the joy of creating. Through art, we offer a space for self-expression, mindfulness, and genuine human connection—a place where everyone is welcome, and every creation tells a story.

At the heart of our mission is a simple belief: creativity is not just an activity; it is a pathway to wellbeing, joy, and community.

Meet the team

Megan Littlehale

Co-founder, Chief Financial Officer

Megan is a lifelong resident of Northern New Hampshire, where her passion for the arts first took root. Eclectic in her approach, Megan explores a variety of mediums, yet her heart lies in creating life-like paintings of nature and animals. She also finds joy in blending elements of nature and abstraction into landscapes and seascapes, broadening her artistic scope and inviting viewers into new worlds of wonder. Known for her vibrant use of color, Megan’s bright and lively works often reflect her deep love for wildlife and pets. Her most cherished paintings include real-to-life portraits of her beloved dogs—Gizmo, Lola, Jackson, and Starla.

In recent years, Megan has expanded her artistic exploration into shimmering mediums such as metallic paints, glitter, and gems, pushing her creativity in exciting new directions. She also dreams of one day opening her own ceramics studio to bring her artistry into an entirely new dimension.

Megan’s journey with art began early. Knowing her life must include creativity, she pursued her passion academically and professionally. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Art Education with a minor in Psychology and Ceramics from Plymouth State University in 2008, and later completed a Master’s degree in Expressive Therapies with a specialization in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University in 2013. Today, she shares her love of art as a local school art teacher, inspiring the next generation to explore their own creativity.

Through both her teaching and her personal art practice, Megan draws on her own experiences—including overcoming challenges with a visual impairment—to highlight the healing and transformative power of creativity. She believes deeply in art as a way to connect the mind, body, and spirit, fostering wellbeing and self-expression for all.

Beyond the classroom, Megan continues to create across a variety of mediums, from painting and mixed media to sewing and knitting. Since 2009, her work has been a featured part of the annual fair in Lancaster, NH, where she has earned numerous awards, including the President’s Award (2021), Judges’ Choice (2023), and multiple first- and second-place ribbons over the years.

Angie has always valued the peace and strength she finds through the creative process. From a young age, art became her way to heal, overcome adversities, and navigate the ups and downs of life. When challenges arise, she turns to art as a foundation—a source of resilience, renewal, and joy.

Her artistic journey began with private art lessons as a child and has continued to grow throughout her life. Angie completed 18 college credits in the fine arts, studying drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking, and she continues to refine her skills through self-guided practice. While she enjoys working across many mediums, her best work shines in collage and crafting, where she weaves together layers of texture, imagination, and storytelling.

Angie also finds inspiration in the creativity of others, deeply appreciating the honesty and vulnerability that art can express. Her love of art is rooted in family: her Pépère was a self-taught folk artist in Vermont, and her mother’s creativity extends into painting, gardening, and a love for the outdoors. This generational thread fuels Angie’s own passion and inspires her to share the creative process with others.

With open arms, Angie welcomes people of all skill levels—whether formally trained or simply curious—believing that everyone can benefit from the freedom of creating. She is especially excited to offer future classes that invite others to explore a variety of art mediums while finding peace, joy, and self-expression along the way. She looks forward to creating alongside you and sharing the joy of art together.
